Once considered a “big company” benefit, Section 125 Cafeteria Plans are one of the hottest fringe benefit in Corporate America today. Whether you’re a national corporation or a small local firm, a cafeteria plan is an excellent device for reducing the after-tax cost of benefits. Under IRS guidelines, an employer can establish a Section 125 Plan which allows employees to voluntarily contribute funds into a Cafeteria Plan tax-free to pay for benefits premiums.
